While life can seem random at times, the letters on your acuity chart should not!
We often get the question: 'do you have a random letter function for the optotype charts?' What we really want as providers is to remove the influence of memorization as it may contaminate the testing process. To solve the memorization problem, we have different fixed versions of the various acuity charts. The best part is that YOU get to pick how many different charts are displayed (from 3-10)! This provides the best of both worlds because the patient does not get a chance to memorize the letters, but the provider can know the letters without wasting time looking at the screen.
